Barael / MMXXVI / §§ Contact
§ 03 / About

Barael is Eddie Valdez — a one-person studio shipping AI-native software for founders, and a portfolio of products it owns under its own name.

Eddie is a product manager turned builder. Years of shipping software as a PM, watching specs get diluted between decision and deployment, convinced him of a quiet truth: the person with the opinion should also be the person with the hands.

Barael is that conviction, productized. It's a services arm that ships paid work for founders — websites, agentic AI tools, and full MVPs — and a portfolio of products Eddie owns and ships himself, because the fastest way to earn a founder's trust is to use something the person across the table built for themselves.

§ i

Solo is a feature, not a limit.

Every decision on a Barael build — scope, copy, motion, fallback — runs through one operator with opinions. Nothing gets diluted in a handoff, because there is no handoff. The portfolio is proof that a single set of hands can ship real products to the bar most teams aim at.

§ ii

Taste is the job.

AI can generate anything now. The hard part isn't making something — it's knowing what not to make, what to cut, and when the draft is actually good. Barael is paid for judgment, not keystrokes.

§ iii

Fixed price is a forcing function.

Hourly billing rewards scope bloat and punishes speed. Fixed-price engagements force both sides to be honest about what actually matters, what's really in scope, and whether a thing is ready to ship. If a project can't be fixed-price, it probably shouldn't be a project.

§ iv

Ship is the only credential.

No amount of process, discovery, or brand architecture matters if nothing runs. Every Barael engagement is graded on one question: is the thing live on day fourteen?

Barael doesn't show client logos. It shows products it owns. That's the point — they aren't a portfolio, they are the case for hiring.

Fixed scope, fixed price, shipped. If you need a thinking partner by the hour, we're not it.

Barael doesn't take open-ended AI-strategy engagements, staff-aug by the hour, rebuilds of codebases Eddie didn't write, or retainer-style relationships where the deliverable is a meeting cadence. There is no discovery phase. There is no sales call unless Eddie initiates one. The intake form is the interview.
