Barael LLC operates barael.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. Short version: we collect only what you type into the two forms on this site, we use it to write your plan and reply to you, we keep it in email and nowhere else, and we don't sell it.
What we collect
There are two places on this site where you can give us information. Both are optional.
- The short form on the home page: your name (optional), your work email, and a description of the problem.
- The diagnostic at barael.com/start: your answers to nineteen written questions about the problem, the people involved, where your data lives, your timeline, your budget range, and how you like to work. At the end you can give us an email address to send the plan to.
The diagnostic asks about your systems and data. Describe them. Do not paste customer records, credentials, or other sensitive material into your answers. We only need enough to scope the work.
When you submit either form, we also read the IP address of the request. We use it only to limit repeat submissions from one connection. It is held briefly in server memory, is not written to a database, and is not included in the email we receive. The forms also contain a hidden field and a timing check that catch automated submissions; these do not collect anything about you.
We do not set cookies. Vercel, our hosting provider, may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) as part of normal web infrastructure operation. We do not access those logs in the ordinary course of business.
What stays in your browser
While you work through the diagnostic, your answers, your place in the questions, and a random submission ID are saved in your browser's local storage so you can leave and come back. Nothing is sent to us until you finish the last question. When you submit, the saved copy is removed from your browser. If you never submit, the answers stay on your device only, and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
How we use it
We use what you submit to read your situation, write your plan, and reply to you. We do not use it for marketing, add you to a mailing list, or share it with anyone except the service providers below. If we are not the right fit, we may use it to suggest someone who is.
Service providers
We use the following third-party services to run this site. Each processes data only as directed by us and under its own privacy commitments. There is no database behind this site. Your submission exists as an email in our inbox and in Resend's delivery records.
Data retention
Submissions are retained as email for up to two years so we can reference prior conversations if you return. You can request deletion at any time by emailing eddie@barael.com.
Your rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights

Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
